ARTIST BIO

Sarah Kephart was born in 1977 in Salina, Kansas. In 2004 she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from The Wichita State University and a Master of Fine Arts in sculpture from The University of Kansas in 2009.

In 2008 she installed her first public art sculpture, ItBlingz in downtown Kansas City, Missouri for The Annual Kansas City Avenue of the Arts Temporary Public Art Exhibition. Her work has been published in The Review Magazine, The Kansas City Star, KU Alumni Magazine, Naked City, Lawrence Journal World, The University of Kansas website homepage, and can be seen in the 2009 PBS series Uniquely Kansas City. She has recently been one of eight artists selected to exhibit her work in the 2010 River City Biennale in Wichita, KS. After two years as an Instructor of Record in Drawing at KU, she held an adjunct position as a Design I lecturer at WSU. Her practice revolves around all mediums of art from drawing and performance art, to video and sculptural installations.
